Application Information

The College of Public Health and Health Professions is pleased you are interested in learning more about what we have to offer you through our Bachelor of Health Science program. Our college was established in 1958, and we currently teach over 900 undergraduates. At the undergraduate level, we are designed primarily as a preprofessional major in order to help prepare students interested in diverse health care careers. Over three-quarters of our seniors who apply to professional or graduate school get accepted. If you are interested in junior level admission in our college, you will apply to us in your sophomore year. We typically accept 215 students across our three junior-senior tracks – general health science, pre-occupational therapy,  and pre-public health.(If you are interested in communication sciences and disorders, please click here).Below you will find two links to information we hope will be of assistance to you. First, we have prepared a powerpoint slide presentation on our  undergraduate tracks. The slide presentation includes a brief description of the course tracks available and lists, by career focus, the courses you need to take as freshmen and sophomores to stay on track for our college. We have three tracks, as noted above, once admitted to the junior year. Select the track that matches your career goals and then carefully review the courses you need. Second, we have included a checklist that summarizes the requirements for our undergraduate program tracks so that you can easily compare and contrast prerequisite requirements and learn all of the requirements you must meet to be eligible for consideration for junior level admission. We hope you will seriously consider our college for your bachelor’s degree, and we welcome your comments and questions. If you would like to schedule an advising appointment, please call us at (352) 273-6400. Walk in times are available, although these can vary slightly. Please call (352) 273-6400 for the days and times. We are located in the HPNP Complex in room G205
